We have some very exciting news!
We have had huge support for the Saltire Collection and are pleased to announce that we are starting production of the first small batch.
With help from our partners at Silk Road Watches, we have managed to complete watch prototype manufacturing and quality control checks. After the watches passed these checks, we identified the areas that we needed to improve and now the first batch of Saltires is in production.
This first batch of watches will be distributed between supporters who have already paid. We now have only ten spaces left in this batch.
Apart from the Seiko movement that powers the watch, and Scottish tweed for the straps, we produce other components in China. This has meant that watch prototype manufacturing has been delayed by Covid restrictions. This in turn has affected supply chains and particularly the hand painted aventurine and enamel dials. But SWC director Robert Reid-Kay, who is based in China, has risen to every challenge! The watches will be produced by a company with whom fellow director Tomek Borkowy has a longstanding and successful watchmaking relationship, Silk Road Watches.
